ANNAPOLIS NCGR PROGRAMS FOR 2008/9
Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
Regular meetings begin at 10:30am and conclude at 12:30 pm.
The location is the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts on Greenfield Street in Annapolis.

DIRECTIONS: From 495, take Rt. 50 heading east to Annapolis. Then get off at Exit 23 (this is the Parole Plaza exit) and turn left (you are now on West Street). Follow West Street until you come to the circle. As you turn right into the circle you will make an immediate right turn onto Spa Rd. Greenfield Street is about 1 or 2 blocks from this turn and you will turn left. The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will be facing you. Parking is free.

After each meeting, the group gathers at a local restaurant. This provides an opportunity for you to socialize with other astrologers and to talk personally with the speaker.

Archetypal astrology was born from Dane Rudyhar’s work on transpersonal astrology, Jung’s ideas of the archetype and Joseph Campbell’s ideas on myth. From these tools, a branch of astrology was born that interprets planetary patterns from a psychological point of view. That lends a whole new dimension to the reading of the natal chart. This style of interpretation uses stories from fairy tales and myth to describe the archetypes in our unconscious that are shown in the birth chart. Understanding the archetypes is important because when we can consciously identify them, the energy from that archetype becomes available to be put to conscious use. We will look at the charts of John McCain and Barack Obama to illustrate this method.
ABOUT JANET KANE
Janet Kane is an astrological counselor and teacher in the Washington, DC area. Her work centers on applying astrology to mythology and Jungian Psychology. She is a member of the Jung Society of Washington where she has taught the use of astrology in Jungian therapy.
